Note: The following was developed for a specific large fire loss involving roof damage. Actions may not pertain to your loss or other actions may be required but this list can be a starting point.

Phase I

Stabilize building interior environment through emergency mitigation and structural drying incorporating desiccant dehumidification.
  1. Meet with adjuster and all parties for briefing
  2. Mobilization of drying equipment, generators, crane
  3. Notification of temporary labor supplier
  4. Notification of Engineer
  5. Notification of subcontractors
  6. Contact appropriate local government officials for permits, etc.
  7. Install security fencing, control access- ingress and egress
  8. Deploy on-site command center
  9. Establish site communication system
  10. Retain lodging for support staff
  11. Establish basic safety program
  12. Mobilize disposal services
  13. Mobilize sanitary services
  14. Receive drying equipment, generators, and crane
  15. Inspect roof damage
  16. Receive materials at site for emergency mitigation
  17. Receive and review building plans
  18. Confirm all prior notifications and appointments
  19. Bring all staff and techs on project plans, team plans
  20. Bring all personnel on site
  21. Meet with Fire Marshall to receive control of building
  22. Meet with all parties for walk through
  23. Safety officer and team complete site specific safety plan
  24. Install temp lighting
  25. Construct temp roof system over fire breaches
  26. Commence pumping out basement
  27. Deploy initial dehumidification
  28. Commence extraction
  29. Commence content removal procedures
  30. Commence demolition of unsalvageable building materials
  31. Continue towards completion all phase I activities
  32. Expect to tie in electric by day 5
  33. Maintain drying, monitoring and management of moisture removal
